Neonatal kittens (0–3 weeks) cannot thermoregulate or eliminate waste independently. When found without a mother, immediate stabilization is vital.
Rule 1: Warm before feeding. Feeding cold formula to a hypothermic kitten causes fatal gut stasis. Use a wrapped heating pad or warm water bottle first.
